ABOUT ABOUT

Over the past few weeks, several people have reached out to ask me (Robyn Mello) various "how to get started" gardening questions. While I've been teaching more advanced or specific subjects in Philadelphia with Philadelphia Orchard Project, Mycopolitan, and Edenspore for years, I have yet to offer any classes in New Jersey. Until now!

There are so many of us who are interested in taking control of our health, our food options, and our overall self-sufficiency and well-being. Living in the suburbs means there's far more land on which to grow, but often far lesscommunity and contact between people than what I've experienced in the city. I'd like to try to bridge some gaps between land and people. Growing food is freedom!

WHAT TO BRING: a notebook, pen/pencil, questions, a snack, a basic sketch of the space where you'd like to garden, and a brain ready to absorb a lot of information.

After class is done at 5pm, we'll have an informal seed swap, potluck, and networking event where I'll also be inviting more advanced or professional growers to come answer more of your questions, share seeds with you, and even offer professional services if that's something you're interested in.

WHERE: Come to Old Pine Farm Natural Lands Trust on Sunday, March 12th from 2pm-5pm to learn as many of the beginner basics and have as many of your questions answered as I can possibly answer in 3 hours. Old Pine Farm is a 40 acre preserved farm and house that's open to the public and well worth your time even beyond this class!

*No one turned away for lack of funds. If you can't afford the $10-$20 sliding scale, please message Edenspore or e-mail [email protected].
